Budget - Free Upgrade

We're about to rent an intermediate car with Budget. It states Free Upgrade to Full Size when available. How likely to happen?

Can't directly answer your question as we (just the two of us) always ask for a Compact and in many, many visits always using Budget there has only been one occasion when we haven't had an upgrade to Intermediate or above. We use Tampa airport - not sure if that makes any difference.

Thanks for your reply. We'll be picking the car up in Fort Lauderdale, not at the airport. We haven't used Budget before but you seem to like them ok so that's good.

No, I did this at Orlando with Budget and went from a 2 door compact to a Prius which at the time was on the speciality car list
