    15 Seater Gold @ £891

    Question: Silver or Gold??

Rental company is Alamo, only need 1 driver, not sure how big the fuel tank is?

    Thanks in advance

if you're the only driver I'd go with Silver Gary. I'd be very surprised if a tank of gas would come to anywhere close to £85.

I would agree. We hired a 15 seater last November and it didn't take $85 let alone £85. Can't remember the exact figure as I have hired a couple of cars since then.

The Chevy 15 seater has a 31 Gallon tank and I would guess that the others are much the same.

So it's 31 X the current price gas to see which is best.

On the figures above gas would need to cost more than $4.25 (at current exchange rate (1.55)) before you crossed the break even point.

Not quite true on the gas. It's not how much a garage would cost to fill the tank that will make the difference, but how much the HIRE CAR company charge you for a tank of gas

Alamo charged us $48 for a tank of fuel on a Mid size Suv, not sure what size tank it was but even at less than a quarter we never got more than $26 dollars in.
However i cant see them charging $120 for a tank.

Sorry but I think your wrong. The cross over is $4.25 per gallon where ever you get your gas. If Alamo charge $4.00 a gallon to refill then it's still cheaper to go for Silver which was the original question.

Alamo are very fair with their fuel charge. Whereas Dollar and Budget will charge well over the odds, Alamo charge more or less the pump price. If you figure on around 5% over pump price then you wont be far off. At times they charge under the pump price, especially at times when the US national average is lower than the local Florida prices.

Dave that was what I was saying it depends how much the company charges you for the tank of fuel, as to which would be cheaper. If you opt for Silver then youu have to prepay for the tank and if they bump the price up (as Dollar do) then it can be cheaper to pay for Gold. As Roger says their tank price is quite reasonable then Silver would probably be cheaper.
