    Martinair stops flying

    Hi,

just a small word of warning. Martinair will end its passenger flights operations at the end of 2011. Some of their routes will be taken over by other airlines (KLM is most likely) However it now seems that for some routes they will already start rebooking their clients to other airlines as per Jan 2011. This could mean that you won't fly direct from Amsterdam to Orlando but would have an additional stopover in the US. I just want to caution you to inform very specifically if you consider using this airline.

Pleased to have read this post as only last week I was looking to take a Martinair trip in 2011 having lost the Bristol Continental service. Went to seek it out again today and couldn't find the flight at all.

I was under the impression that KLM flew direct from AMS to MCO but it appears not, I am not over keen on doing three flights just to get to Florida so it looks as if it is up to LHR/LGW after all!

No, except for Martinair there are no direct flights from Ams to anywhere in Florida. This has annoyed me for many years now as there are close (or maybe more) to a hundred thousand Dutch that visit that state every year.
