    Package Delivery to Holiday Villa?

    Hi Guy's
Woo-hoo our 3 week Florida holiday is only 13 days away now.[msnsmile2]
I am having a Motorcycle Air Filter delivered to the Villa while we are there.
What happens if we miss the post, will it get left with the villa management company or will i have a delivery card left like we do here so can pick up?
    Any help much appreciated.
    David.

You need to contact the owner to find out, it will only be delivered to the MC if you have used their address. Most vacation home do not have the mail activated, in that case they they usually just leave parcels on the front door step.
Check with the owner as you may need to access to a locked mail box.<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by martek

    Hi
I am having the Package sent to the Villa address and will try and stay in as it hopefully will be delivered on our first days there.
Just wondering what happens if we are not there to see the post man.
It is being delivered from New York via UPS Ground Delivery.( 2-3 day delivery)
    Regards David.

One thing to consider is that some items are always delivered to the address that the credit card is assigned to, that may prove a problem depending on the item. I had guests who went to Daytona, everything was set up for the tickets to be delivered to our villa but they arrived at the cardholder's UK address, luckily, the day before they travelled.

As for an Air Filter - who knows.

Can you ask the sender to give you a tracking number for the parcel? You should then be able to go online and see exactly when it is due to be delivered.

We often have items delivered to the villa during our stay. We buy lots of items on eBay and Amazon and time them to be delivered during our stay. Normally the delivery guy will simply ring the doorbell and leave the package on the porch/doorstep and get into the van and drive off. One of our items went missing recently and we now sign for everything that's delivered. This was put in place automatically by UPS after we reported the item as missing. I'd check with the villa owner to see what happens at their home.

UPS generally leave the package in the porch or doorway if no one is in. I have not been asked to sign for any delivery.

I had a packaged delivered and they just left it on the porch, I was worried though as people suggested it would not arrive but it did thankfully.

We are in our villa at the moment, and have had two packages delivered by UPS. Both packages had a tracking number, but when I logged on I wasn't able to track it. I didn't try too hard, as we were going to be out most days. With both packages they were left in our post box by the roadside, and not on the porch. However, if it was a larger package they would have left it in our porch.

You might like to check with the villa owner, to see if there is a porch that can be used to safely leave packages, or they may have a post box by the side of the road.
