I find airline food acceptable at best, the smell can be nausiating. Think it would be much better if they lowered the fare and we all took sandwiches etc. It may be a long flight, but food we took onboard would be food we know we liked, not the hit and miss we have at present. On sying this my daughters partner actually likes airplane food[msntongue]

Flew back from Sanford in June with Monarch, never tasted anything like what they served up on the return flight. I couldn't eat it and the smell when it was being warmed up should have warned us before it came. I like Virgin and my next trip out is on 21st November as I can go back and forth, get a drink, some snacks etc. My son who is a pain in the **** where food is concerned actually ate the food on the Virgin flight we went out on in March, which left me gobsmacked and holding a perfectly good packet of M & S sandwiches to throw away.[msncry]

Virgin first class- food okay for plane food- served nicely, but if on manchester route, not really using the freedom menu as they should. I had some chicken thing in a pesto sauce, but there was a flat iron steak, and a couple of other choices. didn't want any dessert or anything so can't comment. Breakfast was full English if you wanted it, but I had a croissant % preserves.

Even in first class, my hubby prefers to get a sandwich - he cannot stand any of the flight food

For the return trip I always visit the Outback by the gates at MCO, have my last great steak and a couple of beers, and then don't have to eat any of the stuff they serve on the plane.

Is it just me or is the food on the way back much worse than on the way out?

We too have a meal before boarding as we prefer to get our heads down and have a sleep and not be bothered with the food which is awful anyway.

Flew Virgin from Manchester in May (cattle class for us..) and agree the food is only acceptable but the desert is a pot of Goo .... - Yummy love it - had to sample my hubbies for him too.

Oh and the choc ice - I think is a nice touch.
