Just flew over with them. it was Chicken casserole or pasta with beef sauce. Ok really but we had brought some desserts and cheese and biscuits with us which filled the gap. You can ring and order child meals or others too.

Normally on night flights you get served dinner not long after you have taken off and then a sort of breakfast snack about 1 - 2 hours prior to your arrival.
Nothing special though, just normal airline fodder.

"Sort of" is about right. The good thing about airline meals is that your choice is made easier due to the fact that every one tastes exactly the same.[msnwink]
Seriously, nobody flies for the meals they serve and I don't think Aer Lingus cuisine provides an exception to that rule. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.
It is a pity Air New Zealand do not fly from Orlando as they serve the best airline food I have had in 'cattle' class coming back from America unfortunately we were on a flight with them from Los Angeles.
Just to hi-jack the thread a little we're going to Orlando International from Gatwick with Virgin on the VS027 1:00pm flight.
what's the nosh like on this route please?
Thanks
Mark
Can be okay dependant on choice. You get lunch, icecream later on, and a snack before landing. The return flight 2 weeks ago served up the worst food in my 40+ years of flying!! Normally it's edible. I would not concern yourselves about airline food. It is what it is! Enjoy your flight.

Hi
You get a choice of 2 very average main courses (when we went it was chicken and pasta or a beef casserol) an ice cream about halfway then just before you land a muffin or cheese roll and a coffee - all pretty mundane I am afraid.

We have found the food on BA significantly better than Virgin, much better presented, especially the snack near the end of the flight. Last time we went with Virgin, breakfast was a muffin thrown at you - not even on a tray!
Don't know if they are still offering those really boring little chocolate pots for pudding - tiny and very intense flavour but never anything different.
I don't think that airline food in Economy is ever particularly exciting, its just about adequate - we usually pop into M & S and buy a nice sandwich for our tea. Much nicer and we can choose what we eat then.
