    Fuel question

Can anyone help with a fuel enquiry?

We paid for gold hire with Alamo. We had to exchange our vehicle. The old vehicle had 1/4 tank remaining when we gave it back . The new vehicle came with a full tank.

When we return the vehicle at the end of the hire period do we return it with 3/4 tank or do we pay Alamo for the extra 3/4 tank we will have had the benefit of.

    Thanks Nadine

We have never been charged for fuel if we have had to change a car part way through the hire period when this has been due to a problem with the original car and we have had this happen more than once over many years.

When we had a problem and had to change our car with Alamo we were told to bring it back full.

    Thanks for the replies.

As there are a couple of different ways this was dealt with I shall prbobably ring Alamo in a few days to find out, unless I hear back from Roger or Roulla in the meantime following my email of 29th May.

They are normally very quick replying, so maybe email them again at info@uscarhire.co.uk. as taht does seem a long time for them to reply.

Roger may well pick this up here, but it is better to email them direct. Sometimes emails go into their spam box by mistake.

We have never had to fill the tank with petrol when exchanging a car so I would not worry about this - if the car had to be exchanged because of a fault then I would not expect to have to pay for the petrol.

I had to change our car once due to a problem with the car. I was on silver option at the time. They changed the car no problem. can't remeber how much was in the thank probably about half or so, I paid for the initial tank of fuel only, they did not request any other payment at all or ask me to bring it back with fuel
