    virgin check in

    Hi Guys ,

you have probably heard this so many times before ,

We have been going back and forward for 15 years but have never flown Virgin until now.

we are going in NOV from Manchester bit are having to travel doen from Scotland . I am sure I read somewhere that you can check in the day before and print off boarding passes , is this true.

we could then check in and then drive down around 5am , is the check in just 1 hour when we have done it online

    Thnks

On Line check in is available 24 hours beofre your flight departs. I am sure that the minimum arrival time is 90 minutes prior to your flight or could even still be 2 hours.
If you book a hotel the night before you can do twilight check in and get rid of your suitcases the evening beofre and then check in is approx 1 hour before flight departs.
Even at 5am you could encounter problems as roads are often shut or reduced for roadworks during the wee hours.

Beware- we flew with Virgin at the start of April from Glasgow and on-line check- in wasn't working- But if you ar trying to do it the evening before (like we were) you will be able to adjust yours plans if it doesn't work.

We are going out on Sept 28 and like the poster flying with Virgin and are also travelling down from Scotland, we are having an overnight in an airport hotel for the early morning flight. Re: the comment about twilight check-in, does this mean we can get rid of the luggage when we arrive in Manchester the day before the flight.Reason for my question in that as there are 5 of us with luggage I am having to hire a car for the day, pick-up at Glasgow Airport and drop off at Manchester Airport, check into the hotel then drop car off and get taxi back to hotel then taxi to airport next morning. If I could get rid of the luggage the night before it would make the morning of the flight a bit less stressful

Sorry about the twilight check in suggestion. Having checked Virgins Website it appears that it is not available at Manchester.

    Hi Ian,

we use virgin from Manchester and can confirm they don't do twilight checkin. How ever you can do on line check in from 24 hours the day before. This does mean once you get to the airport you just go to the bag drop then through passport control. This is were the que usually starts so do give yourselves time. We usually give ourselves about 2 hours incase there are any delays. It is easier than having to go through the main check in process and you can get rid of your bags quicker.

Do you also realise that for your return trip you can use the Virgin check in at Downtown Disney? If you need more info just shout.

    Diane.

I regularly drive from Blackpool to Manchester airport and in a morning the traffic can be nasty.

I would always try to be through Preston well [u]before</u> 6.30am weekdays.

It has taken 2 hrs from Blackpool on occasion its just that busy.

Wouldn't like the stress of running late for a flight, as that Virgin flight gets you right in the middle of the rush hour if you are trying to be there 8-9am for the 10.30 flight.
