Can't remember it being there a few weeks ago, but I could be wrong as I didn't really look for it. If you visit the Gatwick airport site it will tell you what's in the south terminal in the way of shops and fast food.

Not in the departure part - that's a burger king - i think there is a maccy d's airside though.
Airside in the corner. We booked into Lounge 1 when we went to Athens in March, after waiting an hour and a half for food or a drink we left and headed straight to it(so definately still there, thank goodness). No airport lounges for us again, ever.

It’s definitely still there; I live only a few miles away and visited it the other day.
