I e-mailed the same query to them yesterday evening, got a quick reply - as I had already collected the car I will need to contact the rental company (Dollar, in my case) direct. I presume you will get the same response.

I confirm if you are in the US, and can not fly back then you must call the rental company directly to extend your rental. The appropriate numbers are on the paperwork issued on collection of the car.

We're stuck in Florida ourselves now and have extended our car hire with Alamo twice now - both at pretty much the same rate as we paid when we booked with US Car Hire. This is using the number for Alamo on the car hire contract [msnsmile].

Slightly off topic but my American friends flew into the States from Rome on Friday. Flew over Spain, Portugal then straight across to Canada and down to NYC. Are we overreacting in this country? Is it not possible to re route aircraft away from traditional routes to get by this stuff? I suppose no one has ever been sued for being over cautious! Have managed to re book my Virgin flight for next Wednesday - here's hoping this damn cloud is gone by then. First visit to Florida in two years and am getting serious withdrawal symptoms!!

If you look at the map, Spain is still clear, as was Rome up to 2pm today. I understand that is also now closed. There was a break in the ash cloud over Scotland and a few flights from the US got in there, but that is also now closed

    Hi John/Roger
We have guests that were due to fly out yesterday and as they cannot get a flight until next Thursday at the earliest they have decided to forget about this visit.
As they booked their car via this site will it be possible to re allocate their hire for when they next travel ( Probably November)
