deltal airline from heathrow via atlanta

    Hello to everyone

We currently have our xmas flighst booked and are going through on delta airline via atlanta to mco and on the way back we go via jfk. Can anyone tell me if they have done a similar route with delta and their experience.

    thanks

We did the same flight the Christmas before last. Delta flight was fine - no seat back tvs but I believe this has been updated now. We have done this route before with no trouble but our flight was delayed in the UK so we got to Atlanta late and only caught our connecting flight by the skin of our teeth, due to it being delayed, too.

We also returned via JFK - and the flight was quick and uneventful.

We like indirect flights as it gives us the chance to stretch our legs after the first bit and often get a bit to eat. It was very busy in Atlanta immigration at Christmas so hope you have a reasonable gap between flights as it took us an hour in the queue. Then we had to get from one end of the airport to the other to get our connection, but a very helpful airport worker helped us to get to the right place - even travelled on the shuttle train with us and ran to the check in desk to tell them we were on our way. Mind you the big advantage is that in Orlando you just walk straight off the 'plane and go straight to baggage reclaim which is brilliant. I did write an article for the guide about our experience so maybe you could read that?

I am sure someone who has travelled with Delta more recently could update you on the seatback tv situation. By the way, the flight from Orlando to JFK was quick and painless. [msnwink]

Hope you have a great time, and I am sure you will have a super flight.

Have also done the same route and not had any problems. Atlanta is a very busy hub though and as Ellie said you can queue for awhile. Nearly missed a flight to Tampa from Atlanta once and again only caught it as so many other people would have missed it and it was the last flight of the day for Tampa so it was held back. (thankfully)

Have flown Delta to MCO via Atlanta, no issues at all. Would do it again. Interesting fact, they have duel landing at Atlanta, so 2 planes often land together, we landed with another flight and it was amazing to watch the plane flying next to us, and land with us at the same time!! Never senm that before it was an experience

And to get to the terminal you have to cross over the other runway! Now that IS scary! [msnwink]
