Hi all,
I'm now struggling to remember what we've been up to the last few days. After we had 'done' the beach we decided on going back to Magic Kingdom after a morning by the pool, this was Sunday. We (the royal we, i stayed in the car) went gift shopping before we went to Magic Kingdom. I hate those places, always run by foreigners (says me!!) and usually selling a bunch of rubbish. That said, we (royally) spent near on $100 on key rings, tshirts, towels and anything else that said Florida on it, or had a picture of a mouse on it! When we got to Magic Kingdom we decided to take the ferry across the pond to the entrance, we hadn;t done this on this trip and it was good. The kids got to chalk on the pavement at the entrance to the ferry which they loved. I don't know why they were allowed to do this but they loved it so was fine by me! We got inside for about 2:15pm which was perfect as we were only there to watch both parades and fireworks. We got a great spot on the kerb edge near the main street roundabout. I was asked (sent!) to get some lunch for everyone (there's 8 of us, do they think i am an octopus? I'm only a mere man!) anyway having walked up and down main street i decided not to bother with lunch and just go into that bakery half way down. Now having pondered and calculated and pondered again, i realised i did not have a clue what to choose for everyone (except me) so i walked up to the foreign lady server (foreign, that makes a nice change!) and i asked for one of everything. I realised that her english was just fine when she simply said 'what'! I said one of everything please. She gingerly started at the top and chose one of each item from the display. she stopped every now and again and said 'one of all the items' 'Yes' i said, the people in the queue behind me were either envious of my position of ordering the shop or they were annoyed at the length of time this project was going to take the nice phillipino lady dressed in olde english costume speaking with an american accent! (only in america!) Anyway i had donuts, chocolate croissant, carrot cake, cookies, pink muffin, blue muffin, chocolate cake, double chocolate muffin, chocolate and walnut muffin and i strange looking pudding type thing with the biggest strawberry i have ever seen placed on top! So, five minutes passed and i was good to go (sorry, i'm turning all new york on you all now). $47 was the bill and my whole experience was done with a smile on my face. i got the plastic cutlery and 450 napkins (i have 4 kids!!) and headed back down main street to our spot. The looks i got were hopefully of envy and not of disgust that i was going to eat the tray full of saturated fat! Still smiling and i think whistling a little now. Everyone was very pleased that sandwiches had been substituted with cakes! They were, as expected, delicious. We watched the parade go by which was great then headed for a walk round until the night parade was due to start. At the top of Main Street i accidentally fell into the ice cream parlour and by mistake ordered the plaza hot fudge sundae!! Mmmmmmmm
We had a thunderstorm at around 6pm but luckily it was my wife and not me that was caught out getting the pushchair from the stroller park! My hair, you understand!!!
We went to see Mickey and Minnie which as before, was fantastic!! The parade happened on time and we then headed to the entrance to stand and watch the fireworks. All were brilliant and as soon as the last firework went off, we spun around and rushed out of the park to get the monorail, yep, so did everyone else!! We got split up but all made it back to the car for the tired drive back to the villa. Another great day was had by all and the indian takeaway, yummy!!! I've just realised that my food day consisted of rice krispies, loads of cakes, loads of ice cream and a chicken tikka masala!! I typed that bit with a smile on my face!!!!
