A cold but very sunny day greeted us this morning and undeterred we set off out to Celebration at around 9:00. Breakfast was just as i remember it, Eggs Benedict from Market Street Cafe could well be the most rounded, delicious breakfast on earth. A view out of the window over the lake at Celebration made it one to remember!
After a leisurely breakfast we had a long stroll back to the beast and set off to IOA. We decided to pay for preferred parking as we have done everyday so far and i'm not sure we could have parked any further away if we had tried! The only further place was in the lift of the multi storey car park! For any of you that know the parking well we were allocated a spot in Jaws, aisle 318 i think. None of you may have ever been that far down but hey ho, it is what it is! So....a loonnggg walk got us to the entrance of IOA which seemed pretty quiet (i'm thinking 52 degrees did it). We went straight to Hulk which had a 30 minute wait time. My niece, Danielle suddenly chirped up that she wanted to go on it. Once i got up off the floor, i said 'wow of course let's go!' What a ride it was. I seem to say 'that's the best ride' everytime we go on one. Manta was incredible, Kraken incredible, Test Track interesting but hulk, i loved it. Danielle seemed to like it too but declined a second go!
We made our way slowly around the park, i went on Spiderman twice as a single rider, 5 minute wait, straight on. I really wanted to go on the Bilge rafts but after thinking about it i thought i'd just go home and get a bath in my clothes instead, it seemed the same anyway! Those people really WERE 10/10 soaked! I do have a confession though, i stuck a coin in those water jets and blasted some poor old dear on the bilge rafts with her 7 year old grandson! I felt really bad about it but the guilt seemed to come out in laughter rather than sadness!!
The rest of the day was spent making our way around the park, sinbad stunt show, Pteredon flyers, various play areas for the kids. The last thing to ticked off my list for IOA was Duelling Dragons. We parted company with my mum and all the kids and Mel and I went off to ride the dragons. A 10 minute wait time greeted us there so we went straight onto 'ICE' (the blue one) Loved it and decided i HAD to try 'FIRE' (the red one). Melanie declined as she hadn't quite regained the ability to walk in a straight line. My verdict, 'FIRE' is the better one. Harry Potter is looking well on the way to completion.
We met up with mum and kids in the Seuss Landing area where they were getting autographs from the characters there.
And that was IOA, a cold day with 100% clear skies all day. I still wore shorts (i am English afterall) but had a fleece on all day.
5pm saw us in Hard Rock Cafe with advanced dining reservations. Nice meal, nothing special but the surroundings were as good if not better than New York.
A 2 hour trek saw us back at the car (ok it was 25 minutes but felt like we'd walked into another time zone)!
It took us nearly an hour to get back to the villa on Highlands Reserve where we unloaded, made the kids supper then sat down with a Bud.
Another great day and the warmth is coming. 5 day forecast is all sunny with temperatures 58,62,64,72,75. Happy days.
Part 4 hopefully tomorrow. It's Chef Mickeys breakfast then the rest of the day in Magic Kingdom. Another cool day but i could not care less, we're having a blast! For anyone coming out in the next few days, you're in for some lovely warm days.
