Not sure there is much to say about this trip as we don't plan on doing a lot but here goes.
MONDAY 25TH JAN
After having lunch we set of at 2pm. The weather was damp and grey. We were held up on the M1, completely stationery for over half an hour. Eventually we arrived at Gatwick and checked in our cases. We then drove to out hotel for a nice meal and an early night, long day tomorrow.
TUESDAY 26TH JAN
We had a nice breakfast before leaving the hotel for the airport. Walked straight through security with no problems. Waited for our gate to be announced then made our way there. There was quite a queue as they seemed to be searching most peoples bags, but better to be safe I say. The flight was a comfortable one as the plane was only half full so everyone had extra space. On arriving we went to collect our car and all they had were convertables. Got to the villa having stopped of for wine, water, milk and something to eat. Well we are here let the holiday commence!
WEDNESDAY 27TH JAN
Didn't get up till after 7am which for a first morning I thought was quite late. Went to Wal Mart & Publix to stock up on supplies and just pottered around the villa, this is better than being at home.
THURSDAY 28TH JAN
Went to Sea World, this is my favourite park I just love the killer whales could spend all day just watching Tilly from the underwater viewing area.
FRIDAY 29TH JAN
Sat out by the pool until lunch then went to look at the shops at The Loop. My hobby is Sc-apbooking and I love looking around Michael's.
SATURDAY 30TH JAN
Had a very lazy day doing nothing at all.
SUNDAY 31ST JAN
Sat out by the pool untill lunch then went to Disney Marketplace, I always like soaking up the atmosphere here.
MONDAY 1ST FEB
Sat out by the pool untill lunch then went to the Florida Mall.
TUESDAY 2ND FEB
Had a very lazy day doing nothing at all, apart from a quick trip to Wal Mart.
WEDNESDAY 3RD FEB
Decided to drive to Fort Myers Beach for the day, when we set of it was dull and cloudy, it stayed like this all the way until we crossed over the bridge onto the beach road when as if by magic the clouds cleared and the sun shone, it was lovely. It had turned into such a nice day that we decided to stay overnight (we had brought an overnight bag just in case) so checked into a hotel right on the beach, then went for a long walk along the beach, it is a sort of ritual that you go on the beach to watch the sunset so that is what we did, it was lovely.
THURSDAY 4th FEB
After a walk along the beach we checked out of the hotel and drove to Ding Darling Wildlife refuge on Sanibel Island. It was a lovely morning so for the drive around the refuge we had the top down on the car it was really nice. We then drove back to the villa, via Sebring, Lake Wales etc. much nicer that the I75/I4 we don't like motorways. Decided to go to the Golden Corral for dinner, oh dear I always eat far to much when I go there.
FRIDAY 5th FEB
Decided today to go and do a little outlet shopping, drove to the Buena Vista Outlet Mall and as we were walking around it started to rain so we sheltered for a while, that was a mistake because the rain got heaver and heaver, after a while we made a dash for the car. Back at the villa we went and sat outside under the llanai watching the rain and listening to the occasional thunder.
SATURDAY 6th FEB
Got up at 7.45 made a cup of tea and went to sit by the pool. The weather was perfect, clear blue sky with just a gentle breeze. There were ducks swimming across the lake, ibis flying overhead & a squirrel running about, who would believe I was only a two minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the 192.
