Best prices I have come up with today are £634 per person. How does this sound? Good bad?

If it's a direct flight it sounds about where I'd expect it to be but it's perhaps just a bit high for a connecting route.

Sorry yes it is direct from Gatwick to Sanford.

£634 for a direct flight during peak summer holidays is a very good price. I assume it is with one of the charter airlines, as you are flying in to Sanford? Just be a bit careful of the "extras" that they might add, like a meal onboard, pre booking seats so that you can all sit together. Also, check what the baggage allowance is, as it is quite meagre on some of the charter airlines, and if you go over your allowance the surcharge can be extortionate!

It includes luggage and meals and is a charter flight with Thomson I think. I will check on allowances etc but we only ever travel with two suitcases for the 4 of us. Boys and girls ones! Guess what colours they are?

As it's a direct flight, I think you'll do well to find a better price than that. A few years ago I'd have suggested that Charter flights aren't up to the standard of Scheduled flights but I wouldn't say that these days.

In my experience you are best to fly indirect into another US airport (New York, Charlotte, Chicago etc) and then transfer onto another airplane for the hop down to Florida. In the summer holidays the business market is lower (due to not as many business travellers going to the US), so becasue of this a lot of the US and UK airlines tend to have cheaper fares going into these airports. You can then try to book a seperate flight down to Florida from what ever airport you arrive.

I did New York 2 Years ago and did continental to Newark, and then crossed over to another continental flight to Orlando. Might be a cheaper option than direct.
