    Your First Time

Yes I know the subject is very subjective, but come on you guys, this is a forum for orlando, so take your mind out of the gutter, lol.

What I am talking about is examples of people first ever visit to the sunshine state and how did you find it, how were you feeling before you got on the flight, basically your story of that first visit.

My first ever visit was many moon ago, went on a business trip with my business partner, was at a very tender age of 19. When I was at the uk airport, I was feeling butterflies, thinking this is my first ever flight over 5 hours without the parent, it was exciting but also very scary.

When I touched down at sanford airport and the sun hit my face, it was like the man above was just shining on me alone, I started to sweat like no tomorrow, must have been all the cold in my bones coming out.

Collected our hire car which was organised by our business partner in the states, what made florida for me as a young man don't forget I was a young man, was when I went the gas station to get some directions and some nibbles, to see a sexy young lady, in bikini and no more filling up, and yes I had seen women before in bikini but never at a gas station, I was in heaven, I was sold on florida and since then have returned every year.

    That's my first time.

You will have to go to the beach to see women in Bikinis ,Nothing is the same when you are younger as when you gret older ,But saying that FLORIDA is still as good when we first came in 1989 .
There is lots to still see and more than when we first went .
Hope you enjoy your next visit .

When we first went in 2000, we drove past miles and miles of orange groves on our way to Clearwater, the groves have mostly gone and been replaced with homes. One of them being ours on Glenbrook. We never thought on that trip we would ever own a property there. How the 27 has changed in 10 years.[msneek]

I was a bit worried about our first flight to Orlando as we were taking 2 boys (10 & 13) and the longest flight they had been on was 4 hours to Tenerife. They were very good and we played so many games of crib and rummy on the flight I was glad they packed the cards away when we arrived and did not get them back out. Once there it was the holiday of a lifetime mostly spent in the Disney parks and they still talk about it 13 years on.

We went in 1996 for a once in a lifetime holiday promised to the kids as soon as we could afford it. They were 13 and 10 and we worried they may be a bit old for Disney.
As soon as we got of the plane and the heat hit us we new we had arrived. Everything was so clean, large and everyone so polite.
We had worried for nothing about the kids being to old, they loved it and everyone is the right age for Disney we discovered. Now all these years later we still get that buzz when we get of the plane and know we have arrived. Many things have changed but it is still fun and exciting, we still have the kids(28 and 25) tagging along if they know we are going. So our once in a lifetime trip is waiting for the grandchildren to come along to start again

Disney really does make so many good memories for everyone. You end up smiling just thinking about your trips.

Our fisrt visit was in 1993, the kids were 5 & 11. It was a once in a lifetime trip as I like quiet countryside places not busy theme parks etc. The children and I had never flown before but I did want the kids to see Mickey Mouse. I am in Florida as I write this it is our 15th trip, I think you could say I am hooked[msnsmile]

The first time we went, we only had 2 children and we had a week in Miami and a week in Orando (as was common in those days)

This was in 1981 and there was only The Magic Kingdom, Seaworld and Wet and Wild. The kids thought it was wonderful and had a great time despite my daughter having a dreadful virus throughout.

At that time there were no villas to rent so our first 2 holidays were spent in a hotel. What a revelation when in 1994 we had our first holiday in a private home. On our 3rd villa holiday we bought a villa for ourselves and have been discovering more of Florida ever since.

Glad to hear we are not the only ones with this problem. Our 2 are now 26 and 23 and still tag when they can - Andrew will be with us this May for 2 weeks. He is even quite happy to do some odd jobs in the villa for us.

You will have to go to the beach to see women in Bikinis [/quote]Or any UK town, Friday night mid winter [msnwink]

My first trip was in November 1981... no one had heard of 'winter sun' in those days!
We landed in Miami and when the terminal doors opened it was warm [msncool] I will never forget that feeling.
We were trying to work out when the car rental was and after walking for ages, with buses going past, we realised we should go back and find a bus stop [msnembarrased]
Drove up to a little place called Ft Lauderdale, where a kind shopkeeper showed us all the currency and told us what each one was called (dime etc)
Did Magic Kingdom and Sea World, Gatorland and so much shopping we had to buy another suitcase [msneek] There were over two dollars to the pound then.

Our first trip was 21 years ago. Fell in love at first visit....still in love.

Main reason is I feel 20 years younger when I am there. This is even more important to me now than it was 21 years ago.
Seriously, as an asthmatic; the air felt so very much easier to breathe;it was the first time for years I didn't need medication whilt on holiday. We only stayed for 4 nights which was the only down side to that first visit.
