    Which rental company?

We are about to rent a car for 16 days in May from Miami Airport. Not having visited Florida for a few years the rental market seems like a bit of a minefield. I thought it would be easy but there are so many different options. Some charge extra for a 2nd driver, some for fuel and some seem downright extortionate. You all seem to know the tricks of the trade and I'd be grateful for any advice. [:I]

Book from the site above and you will have no problems

    Link here :- http://www.uscarhire.co.uk/

They have fully inclusive costs with no hidden extras, you get two drivers as a minimum, and if you choose Budget as your company you can return the car full of gas and pay no refuelling charges.

Why not click on the link at the top of the page? I am sure you will find something suitable here and you have the backing of great customer service, too.

Any of the three main rental companies (Alamo, Dollar or Budget) should be fine. If you don't need more than 2 drivers then the 'Silver' option should be ok. On this site you get 2 drivers included in the price. If you want more then go for 'Gold' and this will include more drivers a tank of petrol so you bring the car back empty. All insurances to the highest level are included so you won't have any nasty surprises when you pick up the car, unlike many sites. When comparing prices with other sites make sure they include things like UMP (uninsured or underinsured motorist protection) as many charge extra. Cancellation and amendment insurance are also included, and there are no excesses.

My best advice is to use www.uscarhire.co.uk as you will find great prices and unbeatable customer service.

Cars are collected offsite at Miami - there are free shuttles to take you to the depots which are just a short distance away.

If you have any more questions, just ask away! [msnwink]

Thanks to you all for your replies. I have been looking at these sites and the silver option would seem to suit us.

I like the idea of having a fast track to collect the car. Is it only Budget and Dollar that do this? Do they have this at Miami? I think most of the topics I read were discussing Orlando.

Another thing I found confusing was the type of car the various dealers allocate. I've been getting quotes for an Intermediate or Medium sized car. Some say you'll get a Pontiac 3, others a Pontiac 5 and others a Pontiac 6. How can these all possibly be in the same category? Surely they must be different sizes? I know you'll get what's there when you get there but it does seem odd. [msnoo]

And to confuse matters even more, you will not get a Pontiac at all as they are no longer in production.
