    Is there an elephant ride?

My daughter wants to ride a real elephant while we're in Florida. Do you know if it is possible at Animal kingdom? If not, is there a reputable place in Florida that this is done?
    Thanks for your time.

Gosh, that is an unusual request! [msnwink] I have never heard of anything like this, although you can see elephants at Animal Kingdom I do not think they ever interact with the public, they are very much 'wild' and living in as natural surroundings as possible.

However, I did find this available at Sanford - not sure if you can actually ride an elephant.

Demonstrations & Feedings at the Central Florida Zoo
    Animal Demonstrations

11:30 a.m. Bird Show (Magpie Jay Stage)

1:00 p.m. Bug Encounter (Discovery Center)

    2:00 p.m. Elephant demonstrations

    2:15 p.m. Primate Feeding Program

    2:30 p.m. Feline Feeding Program

    3:00 p.m. Reptile Demonstrations – Herpetarium

Elephant Encounter – A specialized behind-the-scenes encounter offered on Saturdays and Sundays (2:15 p.m.) where you will discover what 100,000 muscles in an elephant trunk feels like and feed this endangered species during this interactive tour. Learn about our Asian elephants, Maude and Mary, from their keepers.

    Price: $9.50
Time: Saturday and Sundays at 2:15 p.m.

Portion of proceeds goes to Asian Elephant Conservation Program.
Limited to 20 lucky animal lovers.
    Photos included in encounter admission.

    Hope you find something suitable!
