    Converting airmiles into vouchers

I remember seeing, on one of the Virgin websites, that you can exchange your airmiles into vouchers to be used against a trip booked through Virgin Holidays. I've searched both Virgin Holidays website and Virgin Atlantic website but to no avail.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

    Thank you

You have to go via the airmiles website to book flights etc, with virgin or BA, you need 6500 airmiles for a free flight but you cn get good discounts with 2500 and 4000 air miles.
We have booked April flights with Virgin from Manchester using 5000 miles for two of us and £275.

Sorry but I'm not looking at buying flights with my airmiles, I'm looking at the possibility of converting them into vouchers/money to be used against the cost of my Virgin holiday. I seem to remember that the conversion rate wasn't that brilliant but would like to consider this option.

    Hi Kim,
This information was on to the Virgin Atlantic website:

Miles required: 10,000 for £50 voucher or 20,000 for £100 voucher, towards Virgin Holiday packages that include flights and accommodation. Vouchers may only be redeemed when booking directly with Virgin Holidays.
i don't think i can post the link but you need to go to their website, flying club, spend miles and then look under Virgin groups
    Hope this helps

    Hi erowlands

My wife and I have 29,500 miles each. I know this may seem an obvious question but how can we get a free flight.

When I put in manchester to Orlando in the search on the virgin web site it says I need 40,000 to 50,000 miles??

Others will know more than I do on Virgin's Flying Club but I believe that route requires 50,000 miles although I think it's possible to use the miles as a part payment to save you paying the whole fare. I assume that the details are on Virgin's website.

Unfortunately, you can't pool miles between you and your wife and so you will have to either wait until you have collected more miles, exchange them for holiday vouchers or you can get miles plus money fares (for this route it is 2,000 miles per person). These fares will be a bit (but not a lot) cheaper..

When my daughter went to South Africa this year we were able to book her a free flight using miles from my husand's and and my own flying cub accounts.
As far as I can remember you could use miles gifted from a maximum of two different accounts for a flight for a third person. We emailed customer services beforehand and they sent an email back explaining it.

YOU CAN PURCHASE MORE MILES TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE BUT IN ALL HONESTY BY THE TIME YOU DO THIS AND PAY THE TAXES WHICH ARE IN THE REGION OF £200 YOU MAY AS WELL KEEP PAYING FOR FLIGHTS UNTIL YOU GET THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF MILES REQUIRED FOR THE FREE FLIGHT
