    Budget at MCO

Having been advised by a supervisor by Budget at MCO that the system had been changed and I should 'return car with empty tank' which I then ascertained was incorrect Budget have now agreed to refund this charge to me.

I would like to thank Roulla who sorted this out on my behalf in 6 days - that is real service.

I get the feeling Budget are trying any way to extract extra cash from us.

Do we need to worry about having rented with them coming February? Or is there something we need to watch out for?

You just need to watch out for the 'options' that are being offered. Budget will probably try and push you to pay for the tank of fuel on arrival and return empty. If you have Silver Option from USCarHire then you should return FULL, so say no to the return empty option. What they are offering you are 'options'.

Thanks Clare. We do have the Silver Option so we will return with a full tank, we have already looked for the closest to the airport to fill the tank.

We had all sorts of problems with Budget at MCO from not actually having a car when we got there, not accepting our credit card because they didn't recognise the bank even though it was a Visa, to not having valeted the car when we did finally receive it then it breaking down. We did get it sorted out through Charter Travel who we booked the fly drive with. We had the Gold option insurance so we took the car back empty. Personally we wouldn't rent from them again, we didn't find them to be very customer friendly or helpful.
