    Fuel surcharge settlements

    Hi
I submitted a claim online for the Virgin and BA passenger fuel charges at the beginning of October and I haven't heard anything yet. It seems to take about 6 weeks from the comments made in the original fuel charge thread. Although I was given a reference number there is no way of tracking the claim through the website and the telephone numbers given just go to an automated service and no answer from any emails sent. I sent the claim through the website given as a link in the fuel surcharge thread. Has anyone got any idea how I can find out how the claim is progressing?[?]

Good point - I submitted our claims early September and have not heard anything so will have to look into it as well.

Andrew, Stuart and I sent off our claims in September and just after Christmas Stuart and Andrew received cheques back for their claims. I did not get mine and they were laughing and said you are not going to get anything. Today I received a letter saying my claim was deficient and they could not find me on the flights listed[msnmad] In each case I was flying with one or both of them so am not amused, however, I still have my e-tickets for the flights. I did get through to someone who told me to resubmit my claim form with supporting information ie passport number for my BA flights and Virgin flying club number for the other flights (information already supplied so not sure what they were doing or not!) and they would take another look.

Yesterday I had a reply to my email on Friday which made me cross. They said they had done further in depth research and found I did have a valid claim but I would now have to wait 6 - 8 weeks when they made the next batch of payments. What annoyed me is I re-attached my original claim to the email so they had exactly the same information. Guess someone originally made a mistake and no one liked to own up - still at least I will eventually get my refund.

Sent off another email today with more information including passport nos etc and scanned copies of all the documentation from the travel agent confirming that the tickets etc were purchased within the time frame specified and STILL they say we don't have valid qualifying coupons (whatever they are) for the family holiday in 2006. The £6.84 was for a separate flight I made to New York on my own. So I guess that is it for us and our claims....maybe that holiday was all in a dream.....
