Active Users Record

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right area but I have long been intrigued by the Active Users Record at the top of the Homepage which indicates that at 6.17 am on 20 July 2008 the site had no fewer that 274 active users.

I'm not questioning its authenticity but what on earth was going on at that time of the morning on that day to warrant such a high number? I'm a very early riser myself and my experience is that it's unusual to have more than around 4 or 5 people active at that time of day.

I've often wondered that myself and honestly have no idea about that one.

We do get plagued by dodgy bots from China and spurious users browsing the site looking for places to advertise cheap trainers, fake watches etc etc and these sometimes happen at strange times of the day (UK time) so perhaps this was what happened in that instance?
