There is also a tournament over in Winter Haven near the chain of lakes. It is NCAA and college games and will probably have some good matches. In the past Stuart has bought a ticket 'on the door' for the Atlanta Braves games and you can normally get the fixture list nearer the time on line.
What about basketball? I was told there's a team called Orlando Magic, when does their season run from/to?
They do play matches against other teams and I have listed the provisional timetable below. As you can see there ought to be some decent games! It can get very busy and although we buy our tickets on the door we do tend to do it in advance.

The basketball season still runs through March and the Magic have some home games. A lot of people go early and have a tailgate picnic. It is the first time I have been on a picnic and found others watching televisions - this is how to picnic with a difference! For anyone who wants to see basketball stars of the future March also sees the end of the college season which is followed by March Madness - the standard of games is superb. Last year's winners were the Tarheels of University of North Carolina.

Hi Father,
just a quick post to let you know about the Orlando Magic NBA. We were in Florida in October and attended a pre-season Magic v Atlanta Hawks game at the Amway Arena. It was a superb night, we loved every minute of the razmatazz that only Americans can do!!
My wife is still amazed that a game of 4 quarters (12 mins per quarter) can last over two and a half hours
If anyone wants a real taste of US sports then try to get in a game, wonderful stuff. Any seat in the Arena is a great view, and you have to have a dog and popcorn. Mmmmmm
Lets go Magic!!! Ha Ha.
