    Not much activity

I like many come in here for my daily dose of florida, but over the past months there hasn't been much activity, maybe the ecomomic climate has something to do with it.

I hope that this forum does not go down like the others, because of neglect.

    thanks

I suspect that what is happening at the moment is the majority of owners who regularly post on the forum are instead readying themselves and working on their adverts etc. for the post Christmas rush of enquiries and bookings that happens annually.

The one thing I can guarantee, as an "old timer" on tis forum, is that there are too many dedicated owners, moderators and operators to ever let it fall into decline.

[/quote]I agree 100%! There is absolutely no way that this forum would ever 'go down' because of 'neglect.' John and Roger do an excellent job, and this is still the best forum around, plus it has a huge folllowing.

As has been said, many of us are preparing for the busy period after Christmas, but we are still around. This is often a quieter time, as people are looking towards Christmas - which will be upon us before we know it, so keep popping in and don't be afraid to post something yourself.

I think as far as the owners go many , llike us are preparing to go to Florida now the main season is over to take a break and make sure everything is ready for the Christmas period. We always like to douvble check everything to make sure it's business as usual whilst we are away.
As far as visitors go I think it's perhaps because there is so much info on here already that often people are reading but without posting unless they have a specific question.
We all love to read trip reports etc though so those who have visited over the summer nows the time to submit trip reports.

I absolutely agree no way will OV forum fall by the wayside. There are too many dedicated homeowners who visit OV everyday. As a member of OV for nearly 6 years it is the best forum around, second to none.

Keep up the good work John and Roger you do a great job, although we don't say it very often we do appreciate your dedication.

I do to some extent agree with the OP and I see no suggestion in that post that the site is anything but well run. It does seem that there has been a fall in the number of posts although presumably it's possible to prove or disprove the point using data form this year and last.

No question that this is a very well run forum and never likely to disappear but visitor numbers are down so that must mean less inquiries and trip reports and so many questions have been asked before. Of course, owners have a commercial interest to keep it going so that more or less ensures it longevity.

As a newbie, I can't really judge, but as a member of several forums on differing subjects, I've found this is by far the most comprehensive. It covers a huge range of subjects for anyone who wants to enquire on holidaying in the US, particularly Florida. I'm slowly working my way through the vast amount of information, and I am learning plenty of stuff that I hadn't come across before. I reckoned I was a seasoned traveller to the US, but I'd now know where to come to share views and ask for advice. It will certainly enhance our next trip - and I have another 11 months of learning before we fly!

Is the site linked via any travel sites?

All forums have quite times, including the good ones. It is not a guide to the climate. Ticket sales so far this year on monthly basis have been at least double last years, which to be honest has taken us very nicely by surprise

There seem to be that people are getting ready for christmas and the winter has set in and main holidays are finished .
It seems to happen each year the lull before the storm and then everyone come back .
