Morrison's part one

After months of excitement we landed myself, hubby two daughters (17, 10)and daughters friend(16) after an un-eventful flight in Sanford Airport, got through customs quite quickly and even had a friendly chatty custom guy! A definate first for us!! Proceeded to Thomas Cook desk for villa keys and more importantly to find out where!!!! Waited no time at all there and were told to head to Lake Wilson where keys were in box, excitement was now at a pitch just the car hire to go. We have used Budget for our previous 3 trips but after reading words of warning on this site were quite prepared for any sales pitch which was dutifully delivered!!![}]We also for the first time were told no upgrade was available but we could pay to have one!! Politely refused and were on our way on our usual sized car that we usually had upgraded??[:O] Definately will not be using budget again more because of the stories people have endured on this site than anything else! Drove to our villa a little nervous but with my business head on that if it was anything less than we expected I would be at the Thomas Cook office quicker than you could say Mickey Mouse!! No need thankfully when we turned into street the corner plot caught my eye straight away and I though what a lovely home that one is! and IT WAS ACTUALLY OURS!!! I was looking around for house numbers (they work them strangely over here?) when my eldest said thats ours there in the corner!!! WOW It was stunning and an extra bedroom to boot!! Happy Happy Happy would have been the best dwarf to describe us[msnwink] Eldest daughter and her friend tried very quickly and quietly to take over the master with en-suite and own balcony but they were quickly corrected on that one! Cheeky b*****s! Unpacked quickly and headed off to the trusted Golden Coral for a bite to eat and Publix on way back for the essentials. A very excited and tired family off to bed with plans of visiting Animal Kingdom the next day.

The house number thing is partly because of the way they work strange things like watering regulations etc. On our block all numbers end in 9 so they go up in tens from the neighbour, but whne you see the restricitons that say say odd numbers can water one day, evens the next and sometimes it goes to if your house number 1,3 etc its one particular day. It makes it easier for them to track if it is being flouted. So if, as on our development the irrigation is set by computer then the zones can be programmed for the right day by blocks or streets.

Glad to see you're putting your foot down with a firm hand with the teenagers and reminded them "he who pays the piper etc"

Sounds like you're set for a great trip now and looking forward to reading all about it.

Melanie, I think we had the same officer; he spent ages with the 3 pretty young girls in front of us and then even longer with us! I could write his biography.

Enjot your holiday; we left yesterday so are feeling cold and missing the sun already!
