This piece of string could be any length but unless you are going to have a spending spree on clothes etc then we work on about £100 per day including eating out most evenings and we are fine- if your 5 is 2 adults 3 kids then don't shy away from grabbing the cheaper child food offers in restaurants and/or grabbing ad using a book of vouchers that you will find in the foyer of most major stores-nobody bats an eyelid about using them

When you see how much cheaper the clothes are, I doubt if you will be able to resist, especially the 15 and 18 year olds. I would make sure you have a contingency plan as I doubt if many people return to UK without buying clothes!

    Hi Netty
Our children are the same ages as yours and we go in 13 days, we have bought all the park tickets and we are allowing £100 per day to include eating out etc for the 5 of us, we are taking the credit card for "just in case", but we have always allowed approximately £100 a day and it has always worked out fine.

Netty for the ages of your kids, it is a shoppers paradise. There is just so much for them, and you (and them) will not be able to resist all the bargain clothes on sale. I have 3 teenagers, who are very fashion conscious and we always go with empty suitcases and spend an absolute fortune shopping, especially in the sports and designers stores. [msnsmile2]

    Netty...
Don't even bring half of that. Bring your credit card and pay it off when you get home. I can't think of anywhere here that won't take Visa or Mastercard. And you'll have protection if you get ripped off.
Thinking about it, the only place you'd actually need cash is for tips!
    Enjoy!

We have a Nationwide card we use only for foreign trips. All credit card companies except this one charge 1.5% interest on every payment.
We have very little cash with us just our trusty Nationwide card and likewise we pay it all off as soon as we get home.

I prefer cash in hand, easier to control my spending. We have a budget of $220 per person per day with all park tickets, hire car etc. already paid. You can easily have a great holiday on $100 per person per day and have change. You will also have something left for a wee bit of shopping.
