Sorry to hear that. I know it really can cast a cloud over the whole holiday can't it?
If it's a case of you discovering that the camcorder was available much cheaper elsewhere then maybe you don't have a case against the retailer but if the item is not as described or defective, you might be able to do something.
I know it's easier to say than to do but you are on holiday and I'd advise you just come to terms with what's happened and concentrate on enjoying yourself. Similar things have happened to me and I've come to the conclusion that the way to deal with it is to ensure that you learn the lesson for the future. Above all, don't let this incident be the main memory of your trip.
