When we have flown with Virgin we have prebooked our seats at time of booking but these seats have been changed and we have been given differnt seats, when we queried this we were told if the plane is not full all people in Economy are moved backward filling up the rear of the plane for a safer take of.

In October with BA we got on the plane and as we were about to sit down the man in the row behind asked if we would mind swopping seats with his wife and baby daughter who had been allocated seats on the other side of the plane, we were more than happy to do this. What I could not understand was when you checkin on line 24 hours before, seats have been allocated and you can move if there are seats available, why weren't these people allocated seats together in the first place.!!

Or situation with Virgin for February is:

    3 adults
    4 children (11,8,7,1)
    1 infant

We have pre-booked a sky cot for the baby so i assume we will get 2 seats on the bulkhead with me and my wife sat with the Skycot.

    What happens with the rest?

We have booked and paid for a seat for our 1 year old so i assume she will be sat with the last adult but then where do the children aged 11,8 and 7 sit if they legally have to be with an adult??

    Interesting...

will she be sat with us on the bulkhead meaning we take up 2 skycot positions??

    If th

Garry it will depend how many people need the cots. It may just be one seat there and the rest of you a row or so behind.

Lyn I suspect those people checked in at the airport rather than playing fastest finger online

I don't fly Virgin these days so I'm not sure on how that works but are you able to view the seat map for your flight at this stage?

They block off all bulk head and surrounding rows for groups such as ours. No one can reserve those seats until check in at the desk on the day.

We also cannot choose seats until we get to the airport on the day.

The skycots take up 2 bulk head seats so i would assume that 2 of our group will sit there, perhaps an adult and one of the older children. Then a 2nd adult could be with the infant care chair and the 3rd adult with the other 2 older children. I know which children i'd rsther be sat with for 9 hours!!!![msnwink]
