Yes can take chocolate, we always take a few large bars of Cadbury,s chocolate. well more than a few now each time we go over, as we get e-mails from our USA neighbours with their orders

No problem except things of that consistency in foil wrappers in checked bags can attract the attention of customs and might result in a delay. I'd carry it in your hand luggage - provided you have the will power not to tuck in during the flight.![]()
We always bring over a lot of chocolate for various friends and neighbours (and I do mean a lot!,and we have never had any trouble. We usually spread it around the various suitcases and to be on the safe side I bubble wrap it, although there is always the possibility that it will break in transit, but hey, chocolate tastes just as good in chunks, doesn't it?
By the way, we do always disclose the fact that we are carrying chocolate if we are ever asked by customs, but so far they have never asked us to open up our suitcases.

Yes we normally bring chocolate over with us - especially selection boxes around Christmas.
Can't be without good old Cadburys !
Hersheys just doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.
One year we moved onto the coast for the second week and I accidentally left a drawer full of chocolate in the fridge !
I was devastated - but I bet the housekeeper was pleased !
