    Hand Luggage question

Are wipes ( baby wipes etc) allowed in hand luggage?

My sister says she always takes them with no problems, but knowing things like lipstick, mascara and baked beans ([msneek]don't ask )are all prohibited unless within your 100mls allowance in see thro' plastic bag, I am very dubious about wipes [msnscared]

    No problem at all.

Incidentally, lipstick should be exempt from the restrictions because it isn't a "liquid or gel". The test is the consistency of the item so things like solid deodorants and other similar cosmetic products shouldn't fall into the restricted items category either. I suppose mascara is on the borderline and a particularly over zealous security officer (and there are a lot of those) might take issue with it.

Lipstick and baby wipes are fine, but lip gloss and mascara are not solid, so need to go in the plastic bag

I genuinely laughed out loud at the baked beans-but have you noticed that when you try and explain why you are laughing to someone else it somehow loses something![msnscared]

My husband works in Brussels travels on Mon and returns Fri, he has an apartment there and likes to take bits and pieces with him for a quick meal or snack, he also likes to travel light so rarely takes anything other than hand luggage. he got away with the baked beans for a long time until one of the security officers declared they were a paste and confiscated them, he's still getting away with the tinned steak and kidney puddings though[sick][sick]
