    Daily Parade Tip

We like the parade in Animal Kingdom as it's more intimate that the parades in the other Disney theme parks due to the narrow streets in AK.

One thing worth knowing is if you watch the parade from the Africa side of the bridge from Discovery Island to Africa you get to see the full parade twice as it starts and ends there!

When we were there not many people seemed to know about this as they disappeared after the parade first passed by and it was almost deserted for when the parade returned. Great for photo and video opportunities.

Did not know there was a parade. It must be a new addition as there was not one when we were last there a couple of years ago. We commented that it did not feel like Disney without a parade. Is it in the afternoon as I think AK shuts quite early? Is there anything else new there, John?

    Julie:

The parade is great - lots of huge animals operated by cast members. See below for a few shots from our visit the other day:

The new things for us this time were Asia (which wasn't really much last time we went) and Dinoland USA has a few more rides.

First time seeing the Pocohantas (spelling?) show too.

The parade is at 4pm every afternoon.

AK was open from 9-5 when we were there which suits us fine as the children were exhausted by 5pm!

Thanks John. Have a good trip back. Sorry to have to inform you that the nice weather seems to have gone again here. Back to the usual Manchester murk. Bet you can't wait!

    Thanks Julie.

I'm feeling extremely melancholy at the moment as I always do for the last few days of our visits. I feel sad to be leaving every time as it really is like leaving home.

I'll be booking tickets for our next trip in November as soon as we get back and won't let our visit get cut short by honeymooners this time!
