We have just returned from Orlando last week. We booked a flydrive (about 10 months in advance of our August 22 2009 departure) via Virgin and the total cost came to about £2700 for 2 adults and 3 kids with full size car. We have just plugged the equivalent dates in for August/Sept 2010 and the same Flydrive is coming out at over £4300. Have prices really lept that much or is there a better source for cheaper flights or flydrives? Any pointers to cheaper sources that anyone has would be much appreciated. We would bite someones hand off for flights anywhere near £438 pp [msnsmile]

Also did you get charged further when you picked up your car i.e extra insurances.
You could book your car through this site where the price quoted is what you pay.

Lynne[/quote]No. We booked with their 'Platinum' insurance package. We also got an upgrade (via their Virgin Frequent Club) to a Luxury car, so no additions when we landed.<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by rogerdunnaker

Did you go via the TC/monarch web sites directly or was this via an agent or a 3rd party?
we went with Monarch Last May, it cost us £141, great flight but no seat back tv.

I think we have had a result (via Charter the agency from this site) they have sourced a good deal which would save over £1400 on the virgin offering and only marginally more than my this years price.
Considering we are going at peak time in the school holidays and that 2 of our 3 kids are both going to be 13 at travel time and are therefore technically adults [msnsad], this is not a bad price. I don't think I'd get much better by waiting, in the hope of a lower price, so I'm going for it. At last a travel agent that actually adds value.
We got really good priced flights with [name edited] and they even rung me up and got me an even better deal! Fly with BA 5 of us in March 2010 £1492, which includes 3 adults 1 teenager and 1 child. Overall a very happy bunny the flights tend to go up as the date gets nearer for some stupid reason.
Just got 2 adults and 2 kids for Orlando (direct with BA) for the 1st 2 weeks in June £1295. Thought that was a bargin price...
Also if you look at the moment Continental are doing direct flights for a cheap price, but using a Virgin plane...
