    Labour day celebrations

I see that its labour day during our trip and was wondering if it will affect any attractions operations at all, and also if there are any events or celebrations planned (not sure if it is a major event or not).

Can't help you on matters to do with attractions as I am a Gulf Coast owner but shops start their sales the day after Labour Day. Black Friday as it called is similar to how Boxing Day used to be when sales started then. It is also the start of the 'Holiday Season' and people will wish you a Happy Holiday - this is nothing to do with your stay in Florida but the Holiday Season goes on until Christmas and covers many feast days of various religions.

    Hi Steve,
I think Clare is talking about "Thanksgiving" as it always falls on a Thursday and the Black Friday sales which are the day after. This is in November.
We have been over for Labour Day and will be in the Florida Key's this September, nothing closes but our US friends may take the long weekend to have a break so it may be busy in the parks and restaurants. If there are any sales they should be on all weekend running until the Monday evening of Labour day.

We were in Florida for Labout Day last year - everything was open as usual with some real bargains in the shops for the 'Labour Day' sales [msnsmile2]

As Lynne said, some people take a long weekend break so some places/attractions are a bit busier.
