Villas Closest to LBV & I Drive

I am looking for a villa for next May and would like to stay as close to Lake Buena Vista, I Drive area as possible, where would you suggest for this.

Is Lake Berkely close? we stayed on Highway 27 this year and it was just too far out for us.

We will be touring Florida for two weeks then want to spend our third week in Orlando no parks, just chilling by the pool, dining out and shopping which is why we want the area I mentioned. Do not want to spend to long in the car when we decide to go out, will have had enough of the car by that time.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you put in request to all the sites and say were you want to be near the villa owners will tell you were they are close to

I have tried this and got around 60 replies which goes to show the system works but there were lots for highway 27 area and hardly any for where I think I want to be.

I was really just looking for clarification that the area for example around Lake Berkley is in fact as near to LBV and I Drive as I think or I am way off track. I was hoping that the knowledgeable people on this site would be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the response Maureen and I am sure I will have a fab time when I get back out again to Florida, we have only been back eight weeks and cannot wait to go again.

Hi Hazel,
Lake Berkley is just off Poinciana Blvd, which is only a few minutes from the 535 and Buena Vista. There are a few other resorts and communities around the same area.
I know from Terra Verde it takes me 7 minutes from the resort gates to drive up to Buena Vista outlets...I have done this trip a few times[msnwink]
We also use the 535 then International drive to get up to Premium outlets, Sea World, Discovery Cove and also Aquatica then on to I drive restaurants and shopping.
There is one community right by the Walmart on the 535, Indian Wells

I have to say Lynne I used your link to view your villa, it really is beautiful, too big for us otherwise I would have been in touch. I am looking around now to see if I can find one possibly in Terra Verde.

I think you'll find that Indian Wells is the nearest community, however most communities will have good road networks to get most places pretty quickly.

Have fun choosing Hazel and of course a wonderful holiday. You could post a trip report with some pics of your road trip - it's something we all find interesting.

Hi Hazel I know it is confusing we are near the highway 192 and near to Poincina Blvd and as you do not want to be to far away .

Indian wells is the nearest to Idrive. We have a villa there in October.

Hi Hazel ... there are a couple of 'I think's' in what follows ... but ...

I think that the top end of I Drive falls into Orange County, and ...

I think that Orange County do not allow short term rental homes (villas).

It doesn't help you an awful lot but if I've got the above right it does go a little way to help explain why you don't find any villas up in that area and why those around the top end of Poinciana (Indian Wells, Terra Verde, etc. - the communities mentioned above) are about as close as you can get.
