    ICE show at Gaylord resort

Have never been to this event but hope to go this year. In your opinion when is the best time of day to go? Is it a good thing to do in the afternoon or is it more of an evening activity? Also I understand there are 'shows' connected to ICE - sould we see them before or after the main spectacle? Should we book or just turn up?
    With thanks (as usual!)

Nanny Brook, you will not be dissapointed, it is spectacular. We went last time before dinner (about 5pm) and it was very busy. When we walked past later there was no queue, so later might be better. You should definatly book up before hand as it does get booked up.
It is good to include getting a lovely meal there as then you are not charged for the car park. They have different things going on inside the hotel on different nights, they had some lovely carol singing when we went.

Well worth a visit - there was ice skating too outside.

You can buy tickets on-line and print off the ticket to take with you.

You will need to get your carpark ticket stamped usually at the restaurant check-in desk.

Would agree with all of those comments. I guess that the throughput at the event may ebb and flow slightly, however, when we went to it, we first of all went to book tickets and then went back later on the same day (wouldn't recommend this!). My impression was that there were organised groups at it and I would guess that they are more likely to attend during the day than later on.

Weekdays tend to be less busy and suggest you book online. We went mid afternoon but if we went again would go later.

Have done this a couple of times now. Still really enjoyable.

I would also book a meal in the gaylord palms as well. Maybe go late morning, early afternoon for the ice show and have an early dinner.

We have visited the ICE show a few times over the past couple of years, we usually go on a Monday evening and combine it with the Italian night at the Villa-de-Flora restaurant.
    Well worth a visit

We were really lucky last year as we spotted an advert - it could have been on here, not sure - where they were selling half price tickets on the opening days and the money was going to charity. It was our first visit and it was terrific, will certainly be going this year and taking all the family who will be joining us for Christmas.
