Sanibel and Captiva

Hi, we were thinking of staying a few days on Sanibel or Captiva in August. We are 2 adults and 2 teenage boys (15 and 12)

Can anyone recommend somewhere suitable to stay as renting a villa is probably not possible for a short stay.

Also is it best to book before we go, or when we get there, if for example bad weather is forecasted and we could delay our trip?

I'd recommend calling in at the Visitors Information Centre which is just over the Causeway. They have all the late availability of island properties each day. If you read this thread, you'll see it worked for another forum member!

Book before you go or at least get the numbers of places you are interested in- you could find yourself w/o a place to stay. The visitor's center sounds a good idea.

And for teens I would rec Sanibel over Captiva and get them bike rentals so they can go to 'town' on their own.
