Billy May the US presenter has died.

Let's hope this is the last 'star' to pop off for a while.

Unbelievably he is actually number 4, MJ was the third in so many days this week before that Farrah and Ed McMahon (Johnny Carson's sidekick on the tonite show for 30 years or so).

Billy lived in Tampa which I didn't realise. It looks like a head injury he sustained earlier in the day is to blame.

Such a shame, he was quite a personality with his own show on the Discovery channel and he was just about to start a campaign for Taco Bell. (Saying that I used to put the TV onto mute when he came on)!

For those who don't know the name or who he is, he is the guy who does the ads for the cleaning materials in that very booming voice.

I remember in the summer of '77 thinking it weird that in the space of 3 months from Aug (Elvis Presley), Sept (Marc Bolan) and Oct (Bing Crosby) each generation lost one of their idols.

I was reading CNN's website. Looks like the good Mr Mays suffered his injury on a US Airways flight after a particular hard landing! Sounds a little suspect to me though.

He was hit on the head with something coming out of the overhead bins when it landed what is suspect about that?

The plane did land badly with blown out tires, it was all over the news here the day it happened as was the interview with Billy.
