Booking Midsize SUV, but its it a Midsize or...???

    Hi all,

I am a bit confused after having read about SUV's in this forum.

I read that a Midsize SUV from Alamo is type Kira Sportage, but when looking at Alamo's web page then a Midsize SUV is not a Kira Sportage or similar as this car at Alamo's web page is rated as a Compact SUV while a Midsize from Alamo is type Chevrolet Equinox or similar.

So could anyone here enlighten me? That if I select to book a Midsize SUV 4x4 will I then in reality get a size SUV that is actually rated as a compact SUV and not an real Midsize?

We rented a midsize SUV a couple of months ago, and we had a choice including a Kia Sportage. I would say the Equinox is the same size as a sportage. Plenty big enough for 4 adults.

    Hi Wilfy,
Thanks - as a previous owner of a Sportage and older type RAV, Escape driver and Tucson I see the Sportage as a Compact SUV - right or wrong.
However, it seams now that Alamo have recently added a new group "Compact SUV" so maybe my confusion/worry is no longer in place/needed. This year I wanted to be a bit cautious with money therefore a Midsize from Alamo as they are a bit cheaper than Budget, but before I booked I read that some here had received a Sportage as a Midsize so I became confused as the car rental market is a bit of a jungle where sometimes one size in one company/country is not the same as in the next. So I took it as Midsize from Alamo was not the same as Midsize from Budget.
