at uk airport security in uk u can only bring 100ml of any liquid through, so does any one know whats it like through usa security,what the limit is thx

Exactly the same.

I think its the same. If you buy airside of customs I don't think there are any restrictions.

I can only speak of Newark Airport which is where I do my connecting but the liquid restrictions are just the same as are shoes off/jackets off etc etc.

It's exactly the same. Although the limit is 100ml per container, you can take as many containers as will fit in the clear plastic bag. If you want to, every container can contain the same liquid.
