Hello again, it has been a while.

Hi all, just a quick note to let you all know, well those who remember me!

Sold our house in Florida quite a while ago, before the crash... Sold our house in the UK, before the crash too

We always thought we would end up living in Florida... We used to live in NJ...

Anyway, we will be emigrating in August, No, not to Florida.. THAT IS A NIGHTMARE! But to Canada, We are now Permanent Residents, and in 3 years, we will be Canadian citizens!

So, in a few years time, we may even be snowbirds! WooHoo!

    Bye now,

    Jeff

    Hi Andrew,
We are off to Ontario, the Georgian bay area. It has been a hard slog, the last 20 months. All the form filling, and the waiting, as well as the expense.
But all sees worthwhile now... Off in a couple of weeks to activate the visas, and find a house. Then it is back to the UK, pack the house and car into a container.
    And that's it!

I'm sure you've looked into this... but, be careful shipping your car over. If it's not Canadian spec you could be in for a whole mess of problems. Here in the US of A, if a car is under 22 years old it has to pass US emissions and US D.O.T. crash tests. I'm sure the Canuks aren't that different, seeing they pretty much share the same cars! (My Ford Flex was built in Canada...eh). Even the air bags are packed to a different pressure. And that steering wheel...!
Welcome to the right side of the pond. Or is it the left side?

Oh wow what an adventure. Good for you. So many of us just wish - very few actually do. Well done and all the best.
