Count your blessings. Some friends of ours just arrived on Globespan from Glasgow. 2 weeks ago they were informed their flight had been put back from 11am to 4pm. When they arrived it was running 4 hrs late and on top of that Globespan have cancelled ALL Tuesday flights so they are npw going home 3 days later than planned.

It sounds to me that you're on US Airways so you almost certainly had a connection in Philadelphia on your original itinerary in both directions anyway. The only scheduled direct flights to Orlando from Manchester are operated by Virgin. I'd call Netflights and see what they can do.

No consolation I know, but I've found that you are much more likely to secure a change if you've booked with the airline rather than through an agent.

Unfortunately I think this is going to happen more and more as airlines consolidate routes to save money. I expect most airlines will eventually only route via their hubs. I'm not aware of any major transatlantic US carrier using Orlando as a hub, so unless you fly Virgin most likely you're going to have to go indirect.

    Thats it sorted

There changing the flight to the Manchester to orlando and it just touches down in phili but we dont need to get off! I had to fight for the chage but they gave us it at no extra cost.

Much better than the first option!

Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

Sorry, but that can't be correct. You have to clear Immigration and Customs at your first point of entry to the US.

Whoever told you that you don't need to get off the plane doesn't know what they're talking about I'm afraid.[msnsad]

Yes I agree with Katy's Grandad...you must clear US Immigration in your first port of call, and you will not be allowed to stay on the aircraft. You might well get back onto the same aircraft after you've cleared Immigration, but that's a different issue.

As there's only 1 US airways flight out of Manchester each day you have to be on flight US735. If you go to the US Airways website, you'll see that you will connect to the Orlando flight arriving at 6.18 pm. It states clearly that "a change of plane is required".

Oh i dont mind getting off in phili! Im just so glad i dont have to go with the first flight option of going to 3 different airports and getting in 6 hours later than planned!
At least the flight times are so much better.

I have to phone them back today anyway so i will mention someone gave me wrong info!

We flew in via Bangor Maine a number of years ago and never left the plane.
The Captain told us if we didnt leave the aircraft we would be airbourne again in 30/45 mins
but if we got off it would be at least 2 hours.
I think they got more fuel, some food and we were off 30 min later Did customs in Orlando.
I know times and rules change, also we have never been through Bangor since. We fly direct 95% of the time now.
