Oh, perhaps we should mention here that US diesel pump colours are different from the UK so diesel isn't black, in some garages it's green...

even if leaded fuel was available, you wouldnt be able to fill a vehicle fitted with a catlyst with the old style nozle. it simply would not go into the filler tube. The USA have been using unleaded for alot longer than the UK. Strangely you can put a diesel nozel into unleaded cars, thats all changing now in europe but not sure about the US.
