    Animal Kingdom Lodge restaurant

    Hello all,

My son and grandchildren are holidaying in Florida at present and I received this mail from him this morning and thought I would pass it on

"Had dinner at the new animal kingdom lodge restaurant, mix of indian and african - very nice food, slightly pricy but not too bad - but really nice for a treat and you can get a window seat and be there eating while the animals are just outside eating!! very nice and worth doing."

Obviously worth popping on the list of different places to eat.

    Val

Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of our favourite places to eat. Has another restaurant been added Val, what was the one your son ate in called? Jiko is brilliant, but quite expensive so we usually save it for special occassions. The food is to die for, especially if you like vegetarian food as they have the most imaginative veggie menu I've ever eaten. Haven't tried the more informal Boma restaurant yet as we're not so keen on buffets. The food did look good though.

The best part about eating at the Lodge is you get access to the animals there. At night there is a wonderful fire pit to sit round and you can borrow night vision goggles to see the animals. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful but I wouldn't want to stay there.

    Hi Nina,
Will ask him the name of the restaurant and get back to you. He did say it was new and as he has actually stayed at the lodge the first year it opened then I would assume it is new, but will ask the question.

    Hi,

Had an answer from my son regarding the new restaurant, reply below.

The restaurant was called Sanaa and it is in the new hotel of Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is mainly for Disney Vacation people, but you can go in to the hotel facilities.

Buffet wasn't impressive and the waiter kept hovering for a tip when we lift - as we had obviously served ourselves and all he did was bring us a coke each it was a bit much but we would have left something anyhow as we always do. the hotel is lovely, we took guests there just to show them around and when we stayed even our teens were impressed by the animals' and the decor as it is beautifully done.
