Independance Day Shopping

Hi

Could someone please tell me if Publix or Walmart will be open at around 5pm on July 4th as we land at 3.30ish and would like to grab some shopping on our way to the villa.

I would think most everything "commercial" will be open, but I've never been specifically in Florida for the 4th of July. In Kansas City (thus Kansas and Missouri) I remember running last errands before our 4th of July BBQ, or grab picnic stuff and sodas before driving down to the lake. But stores can be closing early, for those that actually have a closing time [msnwink]. Sorry I'm not much help.

Don't know about the supermarkets in the Orlando area but when we were in Boston on Independence Day everything was closed, including most restaurants as everyone was enjoying the concert and fireworks. Walgreens and CVS are always open so you can pick up enough for the first evening from there, tea, milk, water, etc.

Okay: I just called the Walmart Supercenter in Kissimmee 4444 W Vine St (I just picked one among many), and they're definitely open on the 4th of July. The lady said: "we're only closed for X-Mas, sweetie". You can do your grocery shopping there at least.
