    Outback steak house. Praise indeed.

Graham and I deserted Florida for a trip to China, arriving home on Monday, something we had always promised ourselves and as it was our Silver Wedding in January this was our gift to each other.
We had an amazing time seeing all the historic sites, very tiring, but must say the thought of another chinese meal makes my stomach turn. The hotels were of a high standard with a choice of an English breakfast but after that then chinese, chinese and more chinese. We finished off our tour in Hong Kong and whilst driving from the airport to the hotel I spied an Outback steakhouse, guess where we ate that evening, not quite American standard, but after chinese then the steak and ribs and the Ceasar salad were nectar from the gods.
    Hooray for the Outback.

I've eaten at outback in Hong Kong a number of times, as you say it is great when you are craving some good western food. Unfortunately, outside of hong kong there are no others in China!

We always go to the Outback whilst in Florida, but like you, I was delighted to see an Outback in Bangkok a few years ago. I think I had Alice Springs Chicken!! As you said, not quite as good as Florida standards, but very welcome after eating Thai food for 5 days!!

Val wish I'd known you were going to HK. I lived there for a few years and know where a lot of the ex pat places to eat are. Dan Ryans and Jack in the Box were favourite haunts when we were there and there were some cracking bars too. I haven't been back since it went back to the Chinese but I know they haven't changed it much.
