    Car hire longer than flight!

    Hi all,

Just got to New York then had a 2 hr flight to Orlando airport.
Went to the budget car hire queue, only 7 groups in front; 3 people serving.
Took just over 2 hours to get served!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1[msnmad][msnmad]

It's insane!, the flight from New York to orlando was quicker!!!!

Is it just Budget? (I suspect not); does the "fastpass" option relly speed it up??

Basically, whats the best way to arrive tired, fed-up and just wanting to get to your villa and have car pickup take 5 mins?[msnsmile2]

Definately worth using the Fast Track in Orlando then you don't even have to go to the desk. Sorry you had such a long wait.

Yes you can, and no it isn't!!

I've just done exactly this - at first I went to Budget's desk in the terminal, to be told by the person in front that the queue was taking around 1.5 hours. People were actually asleep lying at the side of the queue! (it was about 10.30pm, so us Brits thought it was 03:30) I decided to be very rude and just walked to the front and asked the clerk (who was arguing with a customer about non-available cars) if there was a seperate desk for fast-track. He replied there was only one line - that one.

So we posted people in the queue, then Son Number 1 and I went for a stroll - well we had over an hour to get back! Leave the terminal by the doors opposite the budget desk, cross the road and go up the escalators into the multi-story car park. Turn right at the top of the escalater, and you will see a little hut with the Budget sign on. The hut claims to be for Budget Loyalty Card holders, but it is exactly the place you want to be. Jack went back to fetch the family, and I was able to commence my row about them not having the car I'd booked almost immediately.

The kiosk closes at 11pm, so if you are later than that then I suppose it's the LONG LINE!

Hope this info reaches you before you leave, hope it helps, and hope you get the car you booked!
    Dave.

Have booked with budget in August and do not look forward to the long queues. How do you join the fast track system, the only one i have seen says it is only available if you have used them for at least three times. Anyone can help?

When you get your voucher there will be a link on there to sign up. Anyone can use this (from Orlando and Sanford) and you don't have to have booked 3 times.
