    May 3rd - May 10th 2009 Fort Myers Beach

The second week of our holiday we drove the 4 hours to from Orlando to Fort Myers Beach and stayed at The Dolphin Inn and explored the local area. Went to a different beach every day, did some shopping and went twice to Sanibel and Captiva.

Pic taken from the pier. The dark shape in the water is a dolphin, there was 3 of them swimming about close to the shore.

We got back to the motel one day and someone had caught this grouper!

Went to a baseball game to see Fort Myers Miracles play.

We were walking along the beach at Lovers Key and this shark had just been caught.

Nice pictures. Unless I'm mistaken, the Osprey pictures are taken by the fishing pier on Sanibel aren't they?

yes we saw the ospreys near the fishing pier on Sanibel, there were 3 there and we saw 2 at Bowditch Point at Fort Myers Beach. I'm not a bird watcher but I think it was one of the [many] highlights of the holiday as we stood on the beach the osprey flew past us with the fish in its claws, then landed on top of the telegrapgh pole and ate it while the fish flapped about, it ate the head of the fish then took it to the nest, nothing like fresh sushi!!
