my orlando strategy for xmas,am I right ??

we are in florida 17 dec-7 jan, we want to make the best of it over the busy period.
I thought the best way would be ,to do all the non park stuff [coast &shopping ] between xmas & new year to avoid the worst of the lines.
We will no doubt do seaworld on boxing day as I have heard its not to bad, are there any other parks we can tick off our list that week.
We are doing epcot cp on xmas eve and epcot new years eve.
    Any tips welcome
    thanks

Cp is nice, make sure you have reservations. Epcot on NYE, if you have young ones I would not bother. You need to get there very early to get in. They close the car parks around 10 - 11am. Once the car parks are closed your stuck. I went to epcot on NYE once and it was very busy, forget doing any rides. Last year we stayed at home and popped out to see the fireworks at Kissimmee Lake front (biggest show in the area). Just pulled up along the side of the road about 2 miles back. It was great.

you may want to check out the Disney website for the park opening times but I know when we've been at that time the parks are open till around 11-12 in the week between Christmas and New Year so you may find it pays to do them during that time as although there may be lines you will get better value out of each day ticket. You can then afford to take a break in the afternoon and go to the shops or have a rest or meal before going back for the evening.

Do they still have staff parties near Christmas where they kick you out at 5pm....??
That makes a short day if you're not careful.....

Martin where is Kissimmee Lake located, are they doing the fireworks again this year. Sounds like something we might want to do for NYE. Thanks.

We never found that , I think some days, as at halloween, when they have the Mickeys very merry Christmas party then Magic Kingdom may close and reopen a later to ticket holders but hte website will say what days they are on.
