    MTP,

If that is right about paying no tax if ordered over the internet (seems logical as what rate would you charge) and you are interested in a dell why don't you order them on line to be delivered to where you are staying?

Sales Tax depends on the county you purchased the goods in. Osceola is 7% and Orange is 6.5%. Osceola covers most of Kissimmee and Highway 192 and Ornage covers International Drive, Disney and Universal.

We purchased a Framed Disney Cell while we were out there last year.

They told us that if we have them shipped home, we do not pay sales tax, but would probably end up paying VAT.

Would this not apply to Laptops?

Could you not have them delivered?

Maybe the cost of Postage etc would outway the sales tax!!

I can say that you defiantly do not pay sales tax if you order over the phone from a supplier outside Florida. You get round the credit card address problem now by asking your card company to add a second delivery address to your card. If you make this the villa you will be staying at you will have no problems. However I don't think this will work for hotels, which is another good reason for staying in a villa.

Florida sales tax varies from 6 to 7.5% the majority being 7%

A fact apparently known to few... If a florida resident buys item from an out of state business for which sales tax is not collected the burden to voluntarily comply with Florida law is yours. You must submit payment directly to the Florida Department of Revenue.

You can claim tax back on any purchases at Orlando Airport only, you just need to show them your receipts and it must be done on departure. Sanford does not have this facility and told us to get the receipts notorised and send them back, but we never bothered.[lucky]
