    Reopened

Cypress gardens has reopened without the rides. The water park has a separate gate and ticket. 2008 annual tickets will be extended by 4 months to compensate for the closure. Its re-invented as Florida's first theme park and is concentrating on the gardens and shows as it used to.

That's good, have they kept the boat ride round? It's a good place to go if youu have people who dont like the rides. I hope they also have their concert series, they have had some great acts there.

Shall look forward to going when we are next in FL. Not a ride person and always enjoyed going as it is just a bit different to the normal parks. So pleased it didn't close for good as it would have been a real shame

Went to CG when we were over just before Easter. We are so glad we'd been before as we found this visit very disappointing. We arrived at the entrance and had to wait for a tram to take us to the new entrance through all the closed rides, no option to walk. Water Park and Garden visitors all have to do this. The garden visitors are dropped of first. All that is open is the section as far as the topiary garden, you cannot go through to the village part or the butterfly house or to the part where the house is. The water ski show was only on at the weekend, fortunately we were there on a Saturday. There was definitely 2 shows that day, not sure if there was 3 but it was a much scaled down show. We were never interested in the rides or the water park and the botanic gardens and topiary area are still lovely but not as loved. [msnsad]

it is sad-I loved Cypress Gardens-so pretty there.

It's a real shame-they seemed to have struggled with it for quite a few years and the new owners seemed to have invested a lot of money in it too.

    A real, real shame!

I wondered if that was where Legoland was going to be when they mentioned the possibility of it opening.

At least Merlin have a lot of experience with theme parks so hopfully they will keep some of the best parts and be able to make the rest of it pay enough to stay open.
